Knowing Jesus...

Worship

Our Sunday morning worship service is the time most of our guests are introduced to our church. We work hard at making our guests feel welcome without being embarrassed.

During our worship services we have a time to welcome our guests. All we ask is that our guests fill out a guest card that is connected to the worship bulletin. We then ask all people (i.e. guests and members) to stand and greet one another. Our guests do not have to raise their hand, remain seated, or anything else that might focus too much attention on them.

The majority of the people who come to our worship services dress in a casual style, but if you like to dress in a more formal style (i.e. a suit, etc), you will not feel out of place. Our order of service is easy to follow, so you will not get lost through the service.

Childcare is provided for children up to Kindergarten during the worship service. We also have a cry room for parents with babies. The worship service begins at 11:00 AM. With an average attendance of 100-120 people you can be assured that you will be welcomed and be able to fit in with the crowd.

Sunday School

Our guests are always welcome in our Sunday school classes.

Greeters wait in front of the church in order to walk you to your appropriate room.

All you need to do is get out of your car and begin walking to the sanctuary. We will meet you halfway and then walk you and whoever is with you to your room.

Once you are in your room, you can relax and enjoy the Bible study.

You will not be asked to pray, read the Bible, or anything else that might make a first time guest uncomfortable

Children

Psalm 127:3 states, "Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him."

At First Baptist Church, Castroville, we aim to aid parents in 'train[ing] up a child in the way he should go'.

We have Sunday School classes for children of all ages. We meet on Sunday mornings at 9:45am. (Classes are available for Mom and Dad, too!)

AWANA meets on Sunday afternoons at 5:30pm. AWANA is an acronym for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed," which is taken from 2 Tim. 2:15.

Youth

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. (1 Timothy 4:12)

Edge is the Sunday evening weekly youth meeting at First Baptist Church, Castroville. The youth group meets on Sunday evenings at 7:01pm. On Wednesday nights, the youth group meets at 6:30pm for Relevant Youth Meetings.

Besides Edge and Relevant meetings, our youth group participates in all facets of the church. Some youth sing in the choir on Sunday mornings. Others work in the nursery helping to train up the next generation.

The youth of fbc, Castroville truly set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

Adults can join a Sunday School class. Classes meet each Sunday morning at 9:45am.

The church choir is always looking for new members. Come join us on Wednesday nights at 7:00pm for choir practice.

Wednesday night Prayer Meeting is a great time of study and fellowship. We are currently studying the book of Romans together.
